Directions from Floyd, VA
Take route 8 to the Blue Ridge Parkway (11.9 miles). Take the Blue Ridge Parkway South 5.8 miles to SR 720 on your left (Milepost 170.5), which is Rock Castle Gorge Road. Just past the Rocky Knob Campground and recreational area.
Directions from Meadows of Dan (NC area)
Take the Blue Ridge Parkway North 6.2 miles to SR 720 on your right (Milepost 170.5), which is Rock Castle Gorge Road. The road is beside a corn field (NO corn in winter). Wind through the farmland on the rocky road adjacent to the Blue Ridge Parkway to the Rock Castle Cottage.
SR 720 (Old Field Rd on this map) ONLY goes to the parkway! You may go either
direction from the house, you'll wind up in the same place.
